Todd Torres’ moniker, TNT, sets up the expectation he is a dynamite ETA.  According to his website he is a professional musician with an extensive background in music, especially from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s eras.

TNT has been singing all over San Diego as a solo act since he was 14 years old. Singing country western music in local karaoke joints, TNT sat in with several local bands. He then began to drift into the Rockabilly scene, jamming with several up & coming bands. TNT has been an Elvis fan since he was 12 years old, singing many of his hits and underground music. Over the years, TNT took the time to study Elvis and his life. Elvis has always been a big influence and inspiration for TNT, having parents born into the whole “Elvis phenomenon” era. “That was all that was on the radio,” he says. Even though he was not born in the “Elvis” era, he grew up on 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music.

If Torres lives up to his name than we should have a great performance from TNT.  Good luck Todd.

  1. As a bassist in the San Diego music scene I have had the pleasure to have played for several ETA’s and all are quite talented. Many don’t know of Todd Torres because he has shied away from competitions, even though he has been an ETA for at least 7 years. For all who will be in attendance at Pala, you are in for a real treat. His main strengths are many hours of live performances, a height and build quite similar to the King, his painstaking attention to the moves and mannerisms will be self evident, and most important is that beautiful voice, which makes it an absolute pleasure to listen to. When you close your eyes and listen it really is uncanny how close he gets to Elvis. Can’t wait to see him compete. And am looking forward to meeting a lot of old and new Elvii friends.
